Designed to restore & maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater
Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium
Calcium & carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health.

Reef Advantage Calcium is a non-caustic (ph 8.3-8.6) optimized blend of ionic calcium. It also includes magnesium & strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr).This allows one to maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium. Unlike limewater (kalkwasser), it does not have a caustic ph & will not deplete magnesium. Used as directed, it will not deplete alkalinity.

To prevent coral problems, you must provide calcium (Reef Advantage Calcium™) and carbonates (Reef Builder™ or Reef Carbonate™).

    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use 1 level teaspoon per 150 L (40 gallons*) twice a week. Dissolve in at least one cup of freshwater. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust dose or frequency accordingly.
  • ADVANCED: Check calcium level, then follow dosing regimen above until calcium is adjusted to 380–420 mg/L. Each dose will raise calcium by about 12 mg/L. Size or frequency of dose can be adjusted, but do not exceed 25 mg/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain calcium.
  • EXPERT: After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: t=0.002vc (t=teaspoons to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise calcium by 25 mg/L in a 50 gallon* tank, then you would add 0.002x50x25=2.5 teaspoons into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: If used with Reef Calcium™, it is not necessary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium.

Use Reef Status™: Calcium to measure calcium.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess calcium may enhance the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

designed to restore and maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater without affecting pH
Seachem Reef Complete
Reef Complete™ is a concentrated (160,000 mg/L) optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to restore and maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater without affecting pH. Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide calcium (Reef Complete™) and carbonates (Reef Builder™ or Reef Carbonate™). Reef Complete™ also includes magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr). This allows one to maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium.
    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 gallons*) twice a week. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust amount or frequency accordingly.
  • ADVANCED: Check calcium level, then follow dosing regimen above until calcium is adjusted to 380–420 mg/L. Each capful will raise calcium by about 10 mg/L. Size or frequency of amount added can be adjusted, but do not exceed 25 mg/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain calcium.
  • EXPERT: After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=0.025vc (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons*, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise calcium by 20 mg/L in a 50 gallon* tank, then you would add 0.025x50x20=25 mL into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: If used with Reef Calcium™, it is not necessary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium. Calcium over 400 mg/L is not recommended. Use Reef Status™: Calcium test kit to measure calcium.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess calcium may enhance the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

Intended to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH (formulated at pH 8.2)
Seachem Reef Calcium
Reef Calcium is a concentrated (50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium.
    Polygluconate complexation confers several benefits:
  • It increases the bioavailability of the calcium.
  • It provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain peak coral growth.
  • It inhibits calcium precipitation/alkalinity depletion.
  • One side benefit includes enhancement of denitrification.
Polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system.

Reef Calcium may be used alone to maintain calcium but will provide enhanced levels of coral growth when used in conjunction with an ionic calcium supplement (Reef Complete, Reef Advantage Calcium, Reef Kalkwasser). Reef Calcium is intended to maintain calcium levels; if calcium becomes seriously depleted one should either perform a water change or use an ionic calcium supplement to restore the depleted level of calcium.

Each 100 mL treats up to 1,600 L (400 gallons).

Directions: Add 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 gallons) twice a week. You can increase the dose or frequency based on growth response but do not exceed 3 capfuls per 80 L (20 gallons) per day. Each dose will raise calcium by about 3 mg/L.

HINTS: Use the Reef Status™: Calcium test kit to measure calcium. It is not necesary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium when using this product. Color and clarity may vary between lots.

Guaranteed Analysis: Calcium (Ca) MIN. 5.0% , MAX 5.2

Reef Builder ™ raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH
Seachem Reef Builder
Carbonates and calcium are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health.

Reef Builder ™ raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Used as directed, Reef Builder™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity.

Reef Builder™ and Reef Buffer™ may be used together. Use Reef Builder™ to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH. Use Reef Buffer™ to raise carbonate alkalinity AND pH. 500 g treats 32,000 L (8,000 gallons).

    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use half a level teaspoon per 150 L (40 gallons) twice a week. Dissolve in at least one cup of freshwater. Check alkalinity every 2 weeks and adjust dose or frequency accordingly.
  • ADVANCED: Check alkalinity, then follow dosing regimen above until alkalinity is adjusted to 4–5 meq/L. Each dose will raise alkalinity by about 0.25 meq/L. Size or frequency of dose can be adjusted, but do not exceed 1 meq/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain alkalinity.
  • EXPERT: After determining the alkalinity consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Concentrated (4,000 meq/L) optimized blend of carbonate and bicarbonate salts designed to restore and maintain alkalinity in the reef aquarium
Seachem Reef Carbonate
Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide carbonates (Reef Carbonate™) and calcium (Reef Advantage Calcium™ or Reef Complete™).

Used as directed, Reef Carbonate™ will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef alkalinity should be maintained at 3–5 meq/L (8–14 dKH). Alkalinity should not be allowed to fall below 2 meq/L.

    DIRECTIONS:
  • BEGINNER: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 gallons) twice a week. Best if diluted into a cup of freshwater, then added.
Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=va (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons, a=amount to raise alkalinity in meq/L). For example, if you want to raise alkalinity by 1 meq/L in a 50 gallon tank, then you would add 50x1=50 mL into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: Best to pour in gradually near strong water movement. Do not add to a sump or other area of slow water exchange. Use MultiTest:™ Marine pH & Alkalinity to measure total alkalinity.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess alkalinity may enhance the loss of calcium, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement. Best if calcium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

Raises the pH of your reef system to 8.3 without fear of accidentally overshooting the pH to a dangerous level.
Seachem Reef Buffer
Reef Buffer™ is intended primarily for use in a reef system where the maintenance of a pH of 8.3 is often difficult. When used as directed Reef Buffer™ will raise the pH of your reef system to 8.3 without fear of accidentally overshooting the pH to a dangerous level. Reef Buffer™ will also raise carbonate alkalinity.

Reef Buffer™ is a blended product and is not just sodium carbonate. Reef Builder™ should be used to raise alkalinity when pH is not a problem. Use Seachem’s MultiTest: Marine pH & Alkalinity™ to check pH and total alkalinity.

Reef Buffer is successful at overcoming acids where intense biological activity occurs resulting in heavier acid production like in a typical reef aquarium..

DIRECTIONS: Check pH and alkalinity before use. Use 5 g (1 level teaspoon) for every 150 L (40 gallons) to raise pH by about 0.1 pH units (this will also raise alkalinity by about 0.5 meq/L). Dissolve in at least one cup of freshwater, then add to the tank. The pH of natural sea water is 8.25–8.30. In a well established reef system pH adjustment may be necessary biweekly to semiweekly. Dosing requirements will vary, but do not exceed the recommended dose without checking your pH and alkalinity (alkalinity should not exceed 6 meq/L). If an alkalinity of 6 meq/L has been reached and a pH of at least 8.20 has not been attained or substantial cloudiness that does not clear within 15 minutes is encountered, then the system is not ionically balanced. To restore ionic balance perform a water change or adjust the magnesium and calcium levels to approximately 3:1 Mg:Ca (calcium does not need to exceed 400 mg/L).

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess alkalinity may enhance the loss of calcium, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement.

Reef Iodide™ is a concentrated (8,000 mg/L) stabilized potassium iodide source for reef aquaria that will restore and maintain iodide levels to those found in natural sea water.
Seachem Reef Iodide

It is formulated to provide a safe source of iodide that will not convert to toxic free iodine under storage or reef conditions. Iodine is as toxic as chlorine and should never be used in a reef system. However, iodide is as safe as chloride.

Iodide is an important element required by invertebrates and many soft corals (gorgonians, sarcophytons, etc).

DIRECTIONS: Please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL, full cap is 5 mL.
  • BEGINNER: Add 5 mL (1 capful) for each 200 L (50 gallons*) every other day.
  • ADVANCED: Add 1 mL for each 80 L (20 gallons*) daily to raise iodide by 0.10 mg/L. If necessary, adjust amount so that iodide reads 0.06–0.08 mg/L 6–12 hours after the last amount. Thereafter, use this amount daily and check iodide twice a month.
  • EXPERT: After determining the iodide consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=0.5vi (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons*, i=amount to raise iodide in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise iodide by 0.10 mg/L in a 50 gallon* tank, then you would add 0.5x50x0.10=2.5 mL into the top-off water.
  • HINTS: It is normal for iodide levels to decline after a few days. This results from utilization and chemical depletion. Therefore, frequency of use will vary with different reef tanks. Dosing can be adjusted based on coral response. To check iodide levels use Seachem’s MultiTest: Iodine & Iodide™ test kit.

designed to restore depleted levels of magnesium with minimal impact to the ionic ratios found in natural sea water
    Seachem Reef Advantage Magnesium
Severely depleted levels of magnesium (below 800 mg/L) can cause depressed pH levels and an inability to maintain proper calcium levels. Magnesium depletion is commonly associated with the use of kalkwasser.

Reef Advantage Magnesium™ is a concentrated (80,000 ppm) optimized blend of magnesium, chloride, and sulfate salts designed to restore depleted levels of magnesium with minimal impact to the ionic ratios found in natural sea water. Reef Advantage Magnesium™ contains no ammonia! This is a common contaminant in every liquid magnesium supplement on the market.

      DIRECTIONS:
    • BEGINNER: Use 1 level teaspoon per 80 L (20 gallons*) twice a week. Dissolve in at least one cup of freshwater.
    • ADVANCED: Check magnesium level, then follow dosing regimen above until magnesium is adjusted to 1200–1350 mg/L. Each dose will raise magnesium by about 5 mg/L. Size or frequency of dose can be adjusted, but do not exceed 25 mg/L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain magnesium.
    • EXPERT: After determining the magnesium depletion rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: t=0.01vm (t=teaspoons to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in gallons*, m=amount to raise magnesium in mg/L). For example, if you want to raise magnesium by 10 mg/L in a 50 gallon* tank, then you would add 0.01x50x10=5 teaspoons into the top-off water.

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess magnesium may enhance the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. Best if magnesium & carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.
