As your pet enters the adjustable range of the Electronic SmartDoor, The SmartKey transmits a signal so that the SmartDoor "detects" the SmartKey and unlocks automatically - much like your car unlocks when you press the "open" button on your transmitter. The range is adjustable up to 3 feet (fast-moving pets need 3 feet, slower pets can have a shorter range to be sure no other animals slip in with them)

After your pet passes through the Electronic SmartDoor, the door will lock automatically.

Radio Frequency key does not require line of sight direction. As long as your pet is in the range you have selected, the door opens. Collar key works even if obstructed by dirt.

These electronic dog doors are operated by one 9 volt battery (not included) so they don't require a location near a wall outlet. A single PP3 (9v) battery will typically give up to 1 year operation. Includes 2 magnets for 2 collars.

• ANI254: Overall size: 7-1/8" x 9½". For pets up to 12 lbs. Cutout size: 6-5/8" x 8-5/8".
• ANI255W: Overall size: 10-3/8" x 10-7/8". For pets up to 12 Lbs. Cutout size: 9¾" Diam.
• ANI256W: Overall size: 9¼" x 11¾". For pets up to 14" at shoulder. Cutout size: 8" x 10½"

These two dog doors are identical except for the collar keys. ANI256W uses the smaller collar key and is suitable for cats. The ANI259W uses a larger, and slightly more expensive, collar key better suited to dogs.

Electronic dog doors come complete with 2 collar magnets (which also function as pet ID tags).
